Servelec HSC, the creator of the best-in-class education management software Synergy, is pleased to announce that its client North Yorkshire County Council recently won a Yorkshire Accountancy Award for the successful rollout and implementation of their 30-hour funded childcare arrangements scheme.

North Yorkshire County Council has been a user of the Synergy suite since 2013. During this time, Synergy has helped the Council to manage which parents receive funded childcare, supporting parents returning to work and reducing administrative burden across the organisation.

Lee Coomer, Account Manager at Servelec HSC, who accompanied colleagues from North County Council to the award ceremony held at New Dock Hall, Leeds on Thursday 10 May, said: “It was great to be a part of the Awards Ceremony, and even better that North Yorkshire County Council has won an award for its hard work, recognising the use of Synergy as a large contributing factor to their success. It is testament to the hard work put in by the Synergy team to implement our product suite effectively.”

On receipt of the award, Joanne Webster, Early years Funding Officer for North Yorkshire County Council said: “NYCC used the Family Information Services Online FISO module to help collect the extended entitlement hours for the early rollout of the 30 hours delivery in the summer term 2017. With limited time to prepare, it was crucial for our early year’s childcare providers to use the system that was temporarily configured to our own specification for the early rollout.  It also helped to give a smoother experience for our early year’s providers to submit claims for 4,000 children.”
