Servelec Healthcare, part of Servelec Health & Social Care, has been appointed as the preferred supplier for the Inpatient Journey Solution at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin.
Servelec Healthcare’s intuitive patient and bed management solution, Flow, provides frontline staff and clinicians with an electronic visual representation of current bed status across the hospital, from admission to discharge. The system complements the patient journey improving communication around patient care and visibility of the patient pathway.
Dermot Cullinan, IT Director at St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin, said:
“In a modern healthcare environment front line nurses and consultants require real-time access to the appropriate information technology to improve clinical quality, increase patient safety and engage patients and carers in decision making about patient care. We need to know where our patients are at every part of the journey, and who is involved in their care on a 24 hour by seven day per week basis.
Servelec Healthcare’s Flow solution will help us improve efficiency and effectiveness, allowing clinicians to access and record clinical information once at the point of care delivery. From a hospital perspective, we need to facilitate our staff to maximise our bed complement. Automating bed management will lead to extensive improvements in workflow and planning whilst releasing significant time to care within the ward environment.”
Sue Hawkswell, Managing Director of Servelec Healthcare, commented:
“At a time of unprecedented challenges faced by the Irish health service, it is encouraging that St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin can continue to improve and innovate in the delivery of its services. We look forward to a new partnership with St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin and working with the hospital team to improve workflow and enhance patient care.”
St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin is one of Ireland’s major academic teaching hospitals. The hospital has 479 beds and provides national and regional medical care at inpatient and outpatient level and also operates a front line accident and emergency service. The Flow solution will be deployed in the first half of 2016 to improve the efficiency of patient admissions and throughput within the hospital.
Servelec Healthcare has a strong background in both the UK and Irish healthcare market, particularly in the acute sector for the latter. Flow is currently implemented at several major hospital sites, including the Mater Misercordiae University Hospital in Dublin.
