East London Foundation Trust (ELFT) is now live with RiO, with 4500 users provided in a fully hosted environment.
ELFT selected Servelec Healthcare to provide RiO to support their Trust, following the procurement process under the Camden Framework. The Trust provides mental health, community health and child health services and currently operates over 65 locations.
ELFT has now gone live with RiO, after exiting the National Programme for IT, which was delivered by BT. The Trust is connected to the Spine Personal Demographic Service (PDS) and is fully hosted from Servelec’s data centres.
The transition from BT to Servelec had minimal impact on the Trust’s ‘business as usual operations’ with 8 million progress notes and 2 million documents migrated in one weekend, demonstrating the focus and commitment from both organisations to deliver a successful go live.
ELFT are now working with Servelec on the next phase of the project. The implementation of SmartView, will securely share details of clinical records with Social Care, Barts Health NHS Trust for blood results and GPs as part of a converged care strategy.
Graham Fawcett, Clinical Psychologist and ELFT Lead Clinical Champion for IMT said:
“The transition to RiO was remarkably smooth. We are now reaping the benefits of being able to configure pick lists, forms and menu items and are particularly pleased that we can design and build our own clinical forms. The extra configurability gives us the ability to support high quality clinical practice with relevant, supportive clinical systems. We are co-working with Servelec to deliver a single outcome screen combining progress notes and appointment outcomes. We are also working together to join up our local health economy by having a two way view of acute hospital and GP records delivered through the Health Information Exchange and have enabled access for GPs and Pharmacists to the Summary Care Record from within RiO.”
Simon Fewer, ELFT Programme Manager, said:
“We are really impressed by the support given by Servelec and how they work closely with us to make sure the Trust’s requirements are met. Benefits are already apparent with the new version of RiO and Clinicians have seen an improvement in the performance of the system, helping us deliver the quality services we aspire to deliver to patient care. One of the key issues for us is access to other information systems and RiO is by far the more powerful system in this respect, so we are looking forward to working with Servelec and receiving SmartView.”
Lindsay Dransfield, Servelec Healthcare’s Sales Director said:
“We are delighted with how well the go live went. East London’s go-live happened on schedule and without significant disruption to front line services, again clearly proving our ability to work in partnership with our customers to deliver their projects on time. We are committed to supporting ELFT as they optimise their usage of RiO to provide converged care.”
