Following the devastating flooding in Cumbria and surrounding areas, Servelec Healthcare has made a contribution to the Cumbria Flood Recovery Appeal.
Storm Desmond ripped through the county in early December, leaving thousands without power and forcing many to vacate their homes. Servelec Healthcare works closely with Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust providing them with their RiO electronic patient record system.
The appeal, set up by the Cumbria Community Foundation, has been well supported by the local supply chain including £500,000 of donations and in-kind pledges of support. Funds raised will help the community get back on its feet via grants for families experiencing financial hardship, and also support voluntary organisations that are organising the relief effort.
Lindsay Dransfield Sales & Marketing Director for Servelec Healthcare commented:
“The scenes of destruction caused by Storm Desmond have been truly shocking. At our Sheffield office, we decided to hold a bake sale and donate to the fund, which we have seen is already doing wonderful work. We are looking to work closely with our communities and this was an ideal place to start.”
The current total donated to the fund is over £5 million. Individual donations can be made through their Just Giving campaign here.
In other parts of the Servelec Group, members of the team from Servelec Controls, who work with many clients in the area, including Sellafield in Seascale recently made a donation from their community initiatives fund to the appeal.
